The Illawarra Flame: Journalism for The Weekend Edition – 5th April 2024

I had the privilege of interviewing awarded writer and performer, Tusiata Avia, about her globally renowned production ‘Wild Dogs Under My Skirt’, ahead of its Wollongong premiere at IPAC theatre. This was an interesting story to research and write – as the production stems from Tusiata’s incredible body of work as a poet and a person of mixed cultures. This story became my second cover story in my internship, and garnered a two-page spread, as seen below. I was lucky enough to see the show and write a series of Vox Pops on opening night, and honoured to have this experience.
