The Illawarra Flame: Journalism for The Weekend Edition – 10th May 2024

During my internship at The Illawarra Flame, I wrote a front-page story about Wollongong’s Annual Comic Gong Festival. I spoke with graphic designer and comic maker Marcelo Baez about the value of this incredible event to young fans in the Illawarra. This story became my fourth cover story in my internship, and garnered a two-page spread, as seen below. I had the opportunity to attend Comic Gong on the day of the festival and carry out Vox Pops with excited attendees.
